Going home

I don't like to stay at the hospital so after they finished all the checks and visits we left that day to go home!

For the first couple of days he had his days and nights mixed up but that is to be expected. Since then he has done a little bit better at night.

The kids came to visit

During the day we had an army of people help us get the kids where they needed to go. Natalie picked up Cole for school, Katie picked up Ethan for school and watched Tess as well as another little girl I was supposed to watch. Natalie later picked Cole up from school and dropped him off at piano and our Bishop picked him up from piano and took Cole to Katie's house. Then Shelley picked them all up and brought them to the hospital.

The kids were very excited to see Preston and all took a turn holding him.

This picture captures how excited Tess was to see the baby! She has been LOVING him every since!

Preston's first bath and first visitor!

The nurse asked if Matt wanted to bathe Preston and he willing obliged! Preston didn't love it all!

My friend Melissa came by early that morning and took a few pictures for us! Her baby Asher is 4 weeks and 1 day older than Preston. I'm sure they will be great friends!

Welcome Preston Peter McIntire

Preston made a speedy arrival on June 12, 2013 at 1:12am weighing in at 7lbs 11oz and 19.5 inches long (although, we think he was taller, they just couldn't get him to stretch out!)

And here is the story...Preston was 15 days early so we weren't totally expecting him to come just yet. Matter of fact, Matt had wanted to be out of town the night he arrived. Good thing he chose to stick around! That day I had some Braxton hicks that seemed to be a little stronger but didn't really think anything of it because you can have those for a long time! I had gone visiting teaching that evening and had a few more. When I came home I decided I better get a few things done just in case I might be going into labor! Around 10pm I decided they weren't Braxton hicks any more and the contractions started getting a little bit closer together so I implemented a back up plan for the next day and called Shelley who was going to stay the night. I think I was still in denial about going into labor and kept thinking it would stop. They didn't so we called the hospital around 11 and they said we could come in whenever we wanted. I didn't want to go in too early so we stayed home till about 12:15.

This is the only belly picture we took this time around and it was right before we left for the hospital! (it was my biggest one yet!) In the car the contractions were getting really intense. They were also mostly in my back which makes it uncomfortable to do anything but lean forward. When we got there I started having contractions back to back and the nurses skipped triage and sent me straight to my room. I had told the nurses they might want to call the doctor quickly which they did and she arrived really fast.

At one point I heard the nurse tell Matt to go get something from our car. I was in transition and yelled at him to stay! Then they told me it was the camera that was still in the car. I told him to run!! That he did and made it back really fast, thankfully. It was probably around 1:00am when I asked the doctor if she wanted to get the party started! She said yes and so I told her to break my water and I would have a baby! She broke my water and the very next contraction he was born! She hadn't even turned around from changing her gloves but was there just in time to catch him. I was relieved that it went so quickly as I went without drugs again. They laid him on my chest but he wasn't crying or breathing well so they took him away and got him crying. They gave him back and we got to snuggle for a little bit.

After delivery I didn't feel very well. I got the shakes and the after pains were pretty intense. I was also bleeding more than they wanted so they wouldn't leave my stomach alone and that wasn't very pleasant. Then Matt was able to give Preston a bath. Once they finished everything Preston took a nice long nap. As I can't ever sleep in a hospital I sat and stared at him. A new baby is such a wonderful gift and the 4th time around I don't want to miss a minute!

Family Camp

Cole's school does a family camp every year. This year it was so close to my due date that we just sent the Matt and the boys. Details and pictures coming....

Edmonds Beach

The Elenbaa's told us the tide was going to be out at the beach so we joined them for a creature hunting venture! We saw lots of star fish, crabs and sea cucumbers. The kids had a blast lifting up rocks and trudging through the sand and water. Afterwards we had a nice lunch at Ivars of fish and chips!

Moved Again!

After 7 months of living in an apartment we found a house to live in! It is in our ward and turns out to be absolutely perfect!!! We are really excited to have found such a great house. It is 4 bedrooms, is in a fabulous neighborhood, has A/C (which we have used a lot!) and even has a play set in the back yard. It was worth the wait for sure!

It only took a small army to pack us, move us, put together furniture, clean the apartment and even help us unpack. I'm so grateful to the many wonderful people who helped us do this yet again in such a short time.

Quick trip to Utah

My Mum turned 60 this year so we thought we would all surprise her by coming into town and have a special dinner with the siblings at the Tree Room. It was great to be with my family and we ate lots of good food!
When we flew in Christina picked me up and fixed my hair and Kate picked up Becky and we met up for lunch! I love these ladies.
This is all of us piled into my Dad's car! You just can't see Ken. It was a funny car ride and brought back lots of memories of long car rides!

Tess's 2nd Birthday!

For Tess's birthday this year we went with an owl theme! We celebrated with cupcakes with the Elenbaas' on the Sunday before and then we had a few friends and moms over for lunch on the Monday.
 The first round of cupcakes!

Tess loved the candle and even blew it out!

 Preparations for the next party!

Tess's friends Sadie, Mira, Brooke, Claire, Landon and Jake.

 We had a little lunch!

The gift bags. It had an owl necklace and owl craft inside.

We put the candle on the cupcake again but this time....

Tess didn't like it! She just wanted to eat it.

It tastes better that way anyway.

She loved opening presents!

These are the gifts from the family. She got my cabbage patch kid babies and basket from when I was little, some bottles for her babies and some princess dive sticks and a bath baby!

Her favorite part was the binky on the baby!
